Location of Makkah Al Mukarramah
Makkah is positioned on the Western part of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia on latitude 21 25; 19” N and Longitude 39 49 46” E. It is (280m) high above sea level and (430km) away from Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah on the south. Moreover, it is (73km) away from Jeddah eastwards. Mountains. It further represents the surround Makkah from all directions.
Makkah accommodates the valley of Ibrahim Al-Khalil which is enclosed by a chain of convergent mountains from the east, west and south. While the eastern chain of mountains includes mount Falaq and mount Qu’aiqi’aan, the southern chain embraces Abu Qubais mount on the east southern part and mount Khandamah.
